Enriched Music

Leonardo da Vinci Academy offers an enriched music program from Kindergarten to Grade 6.

In the junior cycles, our students are exposed to the key essential music elements. The development of the fundamental elements of music and appreciation of this art is the focus. Concepts of melody, rhythm, harmony, form and expression are taught sequentially and reinforced in each cycle.

Beginning in grade four, our students learn to play one of the many musical instruments that our school has to offer. The students begin their band program by learning about the various instruments, proper posture, breathing, intonation and tone production. These skills then lead them to become orchestra members, participating in both the school band and island-wide events.
