Cirque de Soleil Hairstylist Brings Expertise to Laurier Macdonald Career Centre

The CEN also welcomed Stephanie Tremblay and Sonia Bailey, educators specializing in Afro-Centric Hairstyling and Melissa Tedeschi, who provided education for L’Oreal Hair Coloring where she uses their new technology of Smart Bond Systems.

“Professional development is a critical component for teachers at the CEN, as ultimately, the students gain from these current and innovative techniques,” said Lydia Landori, Assistant Director of the Laurier Macdonald Career Centre. “The ultimate goal through is to give teachers full creative freedom to work and develop their skills and in return, vamp up their lesson plans and course material.”

Di Cesare demonstrated to teachers that a future career is not limited to working in a salon but that they can also pursue a wide range of careers in theatrics, film or editorials.

Furthermore, experts such as Tremblay and Bailey demonstrated different approaches to hair, depending on ethnic backgrounds, which provided students with new skills and opportunities to develop niche hairstylists for certain groups. Melissa Tedeschi showcased her personal knowledge and talent in her domain as well as presented the extent of L’Oreal hair colors and the new advances in technology used by L’Oreal.
