MONTREAL, May 16, 2019 – English Montreal School Board B.A.S.E. (Before and After School Enriched) Daycare students is celebrating Daycare Week,  May 13 to 17.

This year’s theme for School Daycare Week in Quebec is  “School Daycare Takes the Spotlight!” The Association québécoise de la garde scolaire (AQGS) wants to “celebrate and shine a light on our stars: the school daycare staff and their students!”

The wonderful environment of daycare, before and after school, is a unique space where students can spend time with their friends in a more relaxed atmosphere as well as discover new and interesting activities through the enriching B.A.S.E. programs. Thanks to the hard work of our head office staff, Daycare Technicians, Daycare Educators and Animators, students can enjoy their time spent in their home away from home!

Each B.A.S.E. Daycare will be hosting special activities in their schools throughout the week, from food trucks and carnival games to dance parties and more!

The AQGS and École Branchée developed an activity book (available on their website in French) in connection with the cinematic theme. The activities encourage students to create short videos and documentaries about their school daycare experience. This theme falls perfectly within the B.A.S.E. Daycare Media Awareness educational core. You can find out more about all the activities happening in EMSB B.A.S.E. daycares on the B.A.S.E. Daycare blog at https://daycare-matters.com/.
